A Johnson man died last month of a suspected drug overdose despite police efforts to revive him with the opioid reversal drug naloxone.
Police responded to reports of an unconscious man at a home on Highland Road in Johnson July 12 at 6:30 a.m. Patrick Daniels, 35, was given two doses of naloxone spray after police suspected he had overdosed, but the spray had no effect on his condition. He was pronounced dead at 7:09 a.m.
As of press time, the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department was still waiting on a toxicology report to determine the cause of death.
Daniels had been arrested at least twice this year, and was facing felony and misdemeanor domestic assault charges and multiple counts of violating court conditions. Informed of his death, the court dismissed all charges.
