May 16 at 4:55 p.m., assisted Morristown police with mental health patient supervision at Copley Hospital.
May 16 at 9:26 p.m., a verbal altercation on Grimes Road in Hyde Park was getting heated, but police helped cool tensions.
May 16 at 11:53 p.m., a person lying on the ground next to a parked car on Cricket Hill Road in Hyde Park was merely looking for a cat that had run off.
May 17 at 8:58 p.m., police took a juvenile into custody at Laraway Youth and Family Services in Johnson, charging him with disorderly conduct. The incident had happened earlier at Johnson State College.
May 17 at 12:18 p.m., an agitated Wolcott Elementary School student was given a ride home by a teacher.
May 17 at 4:53 p.m., a woman at Morrisville Family Health Care was making threats, but police helped defuse the situation.
May 17 at 5:57 p.m., police responded to the home of a Johnson woman who hadn’t been heard from in a day, determined she was vulnerable, and took her to Copley Hospital for mental health help.
May 17 at 6:11 p.m., two ATVs, one yellow and one blue, were seen doing doughnuts near the Johnson transfer station on Wilson Road.
May 18 at 7:42 a.m., someone who had lived for two years in a trailer off Wilson Road in Johnson up and left, leaving behind the trailer and some trash. The property owner would like the remnants removed.
May 18 at 8:56 a.m., after a car rolled over into a ditch on School Street in Wolcott, the driver walked to a nearby house to call 911.
May 18 at 12:52 p.m., a Johnson woman reported that someone had been shining a flashlight in her windows, calling out her name.
May 18 at 7:26 p.m., a Wolcott woman reported someone had taken her purse, which contained $40 and prescription pills, but canceled the call soon after. She was nonetheless later taken to detox at Copley Hospital.
May 18 at 8:03 p.m., a caller reported seeing a red pickup truck parked on Longmore Hill Road in Hyde Park, with a scope sticking out the window. It was a turkey hunter looking for his quarry.
May 19 at 2:09 a.m., a Johnson man reported his girlfriend was experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder, and police gave her a ride to Copley Hospital.
May 19 at 6.34 a.m., police sat watch over a mental health patient at the Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury.
May 19 at 10:02 a.m., a child ran off from Hyde Park Elementary School, but didn’t get far before being brought back.
May 19 at 12:29 p.m., a Johnson resident being harassed via Facebook was advised to get a restraining order.
May 19 at 3:36 p.m., fender-bender on Route 15 in Hyde Park; no injuries or tickets.
May 19 at 9:23 p.m., assisted Morrisville police with a dispute on Second Street.
May 19 at 7:27 a.m., a Wolcott resident told police a friend had stayed over the night before, and took some of his belongings, including a big jar of loose change. He didn’t press charges, but wanted police to know his friend might be into drugs. The friend’s wife repaid the money.
May 20 at 11:47 a.m., a juvenile joyriding on an ATV along Route 100 in Hyde Park was pulled over and ticketed for speeding, driving on a public road, and operating under the age of 18.
May 20 at 12:10 p.m., a group of youngsters playing behind a house on Railroad Street in Johnson claimed a woman was taking their picture, but she told police she was telling them to quiet down and get off her property.
May 20 at 5:53 p.m., police sat watch over the Craftsbury School prom.
May 20 at 6:01 p.m., another detail kept an eye on the Lamoille Union High School prom.
May 20 at 6:20 p.m., police went to check on a Hyde Park resident, but only the dog was home.
May 20 at 11:29 p.m., a 90-year-old man was driving his car around the parking lot at the Forest Hill Residential Care Home in Hyde Park, until staff took the car keys away.
May 21 at 8:30 p.m., police responded to a reported altercation on East Hill Road in Wolcott.
May 21 at 10:06 p.m., after that, police went to School Street in Wolcott, where a silver car had reportedly run over some trees on a person’s lawn. Thus started a lengthy car chase along the back roads between Wolcott and Hardwick, which resulted in an arrest and two damaged police cruisers.
