The Stowe Reporter, L.L.C.

The Reporter was purchased in 1998 by A. Biddle Duke, a journalist and executive who had been working for a media company in South Carolina. He relocated to Lamoille County in April of 1998.

Mr. Duke had spent 15 years in the business in New York, New Mexico, Argentina and South Carolina, as a reporter, editor and manager. Once in Stowe, he vowed maintain the Reporter's tradition of excellence and commitment to community. Supported by a growing advertising base Mr. Duke and his staff set about to expand the coverage in the paper and added full color to the newspaper's two sections. In the past 10 years, the paper's staff has grown from 10 to 20, and several new products have been added, including a second newspaper, The Waterbury Record, in January 2007.

The company also publishes three websites: stowereporter.com , StoweToday.com , and waterburyrecord.com ; a wedding guide (Stowe Brides and Weddings) and a school newspaper (The Raiders Digest). Finally, the company publishes the Stowe Guide and Magazine, a glossy, high-end publication that is distributed twice each year. The Stowe Guide is enormously popular with tourists and locals alike. More than 100,000 copies are distributed every year.
