Stowe Town Meeting 2018: Mark Walker

Mark Walker gets a hug after receiving the Cliff Thompson Community Service Award. Walker, the first assistant chief of the Stowe Fire Department, celebrates 42 years as a firefighter this year. “He’s continually served the town of Stowe,” said John Schnee, second assistant chief, who presented the award. “That’s 42 years of putting life on hold. Forty-two years of missed dinners, missed birthdays and missed anniversaries.” “I didn’t think I’d ever be worthy of the award,” Walker said as he accepted it. “I’m proud and grateful. Thank you.”
