Carol Anne Harkins-Hallock, 64, of North Duxbury died peacefully at home Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, surrounded by her family.

Carol Anne Harkins-Hallock, 64, of North Duxbury died peacefully at home Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Philadelphia Dec. 21, 1950, daughter of George and Anne (Lamb) Harkins, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and SUNY-Stonybrook, earning degrees in English literature.

Before moving to Vermont in 1993 with her husband, Guy, Carol Anne was an English teacher for nearly 25 years at Archbishop Ryan High School in Philadelphia.

In Vermont, she worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural carrier in the Stowe Post Office.

Survivors include her loving husband of 31 years, Guy Hallock of North Duxbury; a brother, Dennis Harkins and wife Irene of Plymouth Meeting, Pa.; one sister, Julia Apice and husband Joe of Philadelphia; her mother-in-law, Kathryn Hallock of North Duxbury; her brother-in-law, Gregory Hallock and wife Dina of Barre; nieces Glenna Harkins and Andrea Apice; nephews Joseph, Patrick and Matthew Apice of Philadelphia; and niece Sarah Hallock and fiancé Michael of New York City and nephew Jason Hallock and wife April of Barre.

A sister, Victoria Brick, died earlier.

Carol Anne was cared for by many fantastic health-care providers, including David Roberts, M.D.; Gamal Eltabbakh, M.D.; David Ospina, M.D.; James Wallace, M.D.; and Monique Karthaus, a physicians assistant. Special thanks to her wonderful registered nurse, Dana Kambe.
