Spruce Peak announced this week that its village center development is complete.
The village center project, which cost $90 million, began in 2003 with Stowe Mountain Lodge, Mountain Cabins and a 21,000-square-foot spa.
As of this winter, Spruce Peak at Stowe is a luxurious alpine village with a new 20,000-square-foot Alpine Clubhouse with Club Residences, 30,000-square-foot Adventure Center, boutique shops and a 10,000-square-foot outdoor ice skating rink.
“When we began this project, we envisioned creating the East’s answer to Deer Valley, Aspen or Beaver Creek,” said Sam Gaines, Spruce Peak’s vice president and director of real estate. That meant developing world-class facilities and luxury amenities “not yet seen in this area of Vermont,” Gaines said.
The new Adventure Center houses the Stowe Children’s Ski and Ride school with a dedicated learn-to-ski area right outside its doors. It also has a movie screening area, casual dining space and Stowe Rocks, a climbing gym that replicates some local rock formations.
This fall, Spruce Peak will break ground on 18 four-bedroom Village Townhomes, 2,100-square-foot triplex units with direct access to the slopes, 18-hole golf course, and village center. Homes will range from $1.5 to $2.2 million.
Nominations are open for the annual 4393 Awards, a reader survey sponsored by the Stowe Reporter and News & Citizen to honor the best in our area. This nomination period is your chance to write in names, so if you (or your favorite business) want to be on the list of finalists, spread the word. Nominations are open through April 25.
