A North Hyde Park man will go to jail for up to seven years after driving drunk for the seventh time.
Robert Gillespie, 61, pleaded guilty in Lamoille Superior Court Nov. 19 to DUI, fourth offense or subsequent, a felony; and a misdemeanor count of leaving the scene of an accident.
According to an affidavit filed with the court, police caught Gillespie driving drunk in Morrisville Aug. 10. In a roadside blood-alcohol test, he registered 0.175 percent, more than double the 0.08 considered proof of intoxication.
Gillespie was convicted of DUI in 1975, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1995 and 1998.
