RSVP and the Volunteer Center and Salvation Farms have partnered to meet our agencies’ needs for office space in Lamoille County in the space that formerly housed Rudy’s Clip Joint at 49 Portland St. in Morrisville Village. Both organizations are small nonprofits, beholden to charity funders, and we pride ourselves on working within conservative budgets to meet our missions. This office partnership was made possible in part from a grant from Union Bank.
Salvation Farms’ mission is to increase resilience in Vermont’s food system through agricultural surplus management. Our mission is achieved by fostering collaborative, cross-sector partnerships that engage and utilize available resources, skills and knowledge to create efficient practices for managing Vermont’s farm surplus. Salvation Farms is fortunate to be able to commit support from the Ben & Jerry’s Foundation to cover the remaining expense of their first year’s rent. For more information, visit salvationsfarms.org.
RSVP and the Volunteer Center’s mission is to engage the community in service. RSVP volunteers process firewood, build wheelchair ramps, read books to children, help seniors with tax preparation, run senior exercise programs and help meet the volunteer needs of many Lamoille County nonprofits.
