Not only are zero-interest bonds for the Stowe solar project an exceptional opportunity, the benefits to Stowe are even greater because Stowe Electric will lease town-owned land for the solar field, which will produce revenue for the town. Without generating (or buying) the minimum power requirements established by H.40 last week, Stowe residents could face a penalty of six cents per kilowatt-hour. That would be six cents per kilowatt-hour for nothing.
I encourage you to review the information provided by Stowe Electric to learn why you should vote for the zero-interest bonds currently being offered.
The recent RESET legislation is a clear mandate to move forward with building a solar project. The savings and alternative costs are compelling. Seventy-nine percent of voters in the village of Hyde Park supported our solar initiative — I hope you’ll support yours.

Trustee, village of Hyde Park
