To the Editor:
Thank you! Thank you!
On Monday morning, Feb. 23, at 0-dark-thirty, temperatures below zero with wind and snow gusting to 60 miles per hour, a passing neighbor (whose name I don’t know) noticed my shed was on fire and called it in to the Stowe Fire Department.
Thanks to their heroic efforts, my shed and contents were saved, no small undertaking in those conditions.
No one wants to wake up to police and fire in their driveway and I’m thankful we have friends and neighbors willing to put themselves in harm’s way in the name of public service.
True heroes walk among us every day. Thank you, one and all, for helping to avert a disaster in Nebraska Valley.
