Baked goods for the Lamoille Community Food Share and dog and cat treats for North Country Animal League will be collected on Monday, Dec. 22, at Stowe Elementary School, Stowe High School, and In Company Clothing store on the Mountain Road.
All donations must be delivered by 2 p.m.
The collection is part of Hunger’s Hard, Baking’s Easy, a grassroots effort that started in 2013 and was a huge success. Baked items are a rare sight at most food pantries and are especially appreciated and needed during the holidays.
Pies, rolls, bread, cookies and cakes filled a station wagon to overflowing last year, and this time there will be two station wagons ready and waiting. Do your own baking or purchase items from local bakers.
