Have visions of your wedding party dancing down the aisle to “Forever” by Chris Brown? Although contemporary music has traditionally been saved for the after-wedding reception, more couples are choosing to incorporate their favorite modern tunes into the ceremony itself. The ease and convenience of wireless speakers makes it easier than ever to pipe in music wherever you are — a real bonus for outdoor weddings.

If you’re on a do-it-yourself budget, you could always ask your fiance’s brother-in-law to play DJ. But it might be worth the extra money to hire a professional, especially if you’re thinking of hiring one for the reception anyway. Need help finding fitting songs for each stage of the ceremony? Just Google “trendy music for weddings” for lots of great ideas.

Vermont has more craft breweries per capita than any other state. And a good two-thirds of them are located in the north-central part of the state. In 2014, three local breweries were ranked tops in Vermont by Ratebeer: Hill Farmstead in Greensboro was named best brewery, Alchemist Heady Topper in Waterbury was named best beer, and Lost Nation Brewery in Morrisville was named best new brewery.

So if you’re thinking of serving beer at your Vermont wedding, then you needn’t look far for tasty local brews. Depending upon your venue, you might consider buying a keg or two of your favorite selection, or offer an authentic Vermont beer tasting with bottles and cans from a variety of breweries.

A map on the Vermont Brewers Association website (vermontbrewers.com) will help you find the breweries closest to your wedding locale.
