In the current climate of mega food awareness, it’s only natural that people would flock to a store that sells both organic and local food.
Natural is Audra and Michael Hughes’ game. The couple moved from New York City to Stowe in 2011.
Three years later, the couple opened a second location of their popular First Avenue store, Commodities Natural Market, on Mountain Road in Stowe.
The store’s business has mushroomed in the following years, making the Hugheses a force to be reckoned with in the Stowe business community.
In addition to their store being named best market, they can add another notch to their belt — entrepreneur of the year.
