Ryan Romano

Ryan Romano is all smiles in his new barber shop as he cuts a customer’s hair.

Ryan Romano is no stranger to jumping in wherever the community needs him. This year’s Volunteer of the Year, Romano, who lives in Stowe, can often be found behind a chair holding shears or a razor at Romano’s Barber Shop, the haircutting joint he founded with his father and now owns. When he opened, he told the Stowe Reporter sponsoring community events was important to him; in 2010, he donated hair clippings to an organization that made mats to sop up the Gulf Coast oil spill. Romano can be found rinkside at Stowe Youth Hockey games as a coach, or guarding the net at the annual Hyde Cup.
