He was born July 16, 1957 in Sacramento, Calif., son of Arthur Elmore Cosgrove and Marian Charlee Lytton.

Tom enjoyed sailing, playing fantasy football and online golf. He always wanted to keep up with political events, and debated with anyone willing to engage. He could almost always be found listening to his podcasts.

He often traveled to Washington, D.C., to advocate on behalf of families affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy and had been a committee member for the Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Eisenhardt Cosgrove; children Mathew Cosgrove and wife Megan of Woodland Hills, Calif., Kristen Cosgrove of Vermont, Elizabeth Cosgrove of Brooklyn, N.Y., Courtney Cosgrove of Durham, N.C., and Mara, Nathan and Kiley Cosgrove, all of Morrisville; two grandchildren, Mathew and Madison; his mother, Marian Charlee Lytton, and his brother, Scott Cosgrove, both of Sacramento; and aunt Marge of Georgia, aunt and uncle Maria and Jack Lytton of Florida, aunt and uncle Pam and Edd Workman of Northern California, and aunt and uncle Marilyn and Ken Kleinman of Morrisville. His father died earlier.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Sept. 21, at 10:30 a.m. at Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish, 301 Brooklyn St., Morrisville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (parentprojectmd.org).
