Greeta Talamo, 80, of Portland, Maine, died June 25, 2018, after a short battle with cancer.

She was born in Belvidere, daughter of Hersa and Maurice Eldred.

Greeta worked most of her life as a motel manager and had also worked in retail. She loved being a mother. She was blessed with a deep spiritual connection that she shared with those around her.

Survivors include four daughters, Kathleen Casey, Jacqueline Bacon, Lynda Despault and Sheila Richardson; one son, Lance Talamo; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

On July 15, her ashes will be spread at the farm in Belvidere where she was born 80 years ago. Immediately after, a celebration of her life will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at the ballpark in Belvidere Center. It’s a potluck lunch; come and share stories and memories.
