If you’re about ready to sit down and read a book, think of Stephen Martin Greaves. He loved to relax with a book in his hand.
Steve, age 71, died July 15, 2019, in the comforts of his home in Morrisville.
He was his parents’ third child, and grew up on Washington Highway in Morrisville as part of a large, well-known farming family that operated Greaves Farm Dairy.
Building fences and gates helped pique his interest and skills in construction and woodworking. His work portrayed his precision, professionalism and detail as a custom finish craftsman.
His talents were many: a drummer in a local band, an innovator, a film laboratory technician and a photographer.
Steve was his family’s anchor, the one to turn to for advice, good ideas and an honest opinion (sometimes too honest).
Steve served in the U.S. Army as a Radio Technician Specialist 4 during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; his mom, Esther; sisters Carol, Jayne and Gail; nieces, and nephews; and friends from every walk of life.
Steve’s family is grateful for the compassion and home care he received in his final days from Lamoille Home Health & Hospice and the Lamoille Cancer Network.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve’s memory would be appreciated to Morristown Centennial Library, P.O. Box 727, Morrisville, VT 05661.
Burial will be at Wheeler Cemetery, Morrisville, at the convenience of the family. Faith Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. To send online condolences: faithfh.net.
