Winona Stanley Larose

Winona Stanley Larose, 79, of Morrisville died peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, surrounded by family, at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington after a brief illness.

She was was born Dec. 21, 1938, in Enosburg Falls, daughter of Carroll and Evelyn Weed Stanley. She attended Enosburg Falls High School, where she met the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Larose. After graduating in 1956, she attended Becker College in Worcester, Mass., graduating in 1958.

Returning to Vermont after graduation, Winnie married Dick on June 28, 1958. They celebrated their 60th anniversary together this year.

Winnie and Dick owned Carwin’s Antiques in Morrisville, and before that Carwin’s Plumbing and Heating. Winnie’s interests included antiques, genealogy, gardening, quilting and cross-stitch. She used her talents to hand-knit warm caps for new arrivals at the Copley Hospital Birthing Center.

Survivors include her husband, Dick; their sons, Steve of Barre, Mike and wife Kristie of Milton, and Tom and wife Luanne Marsh of Chester, Va.; five grandsons, Bryan, Matthew, Scott, David and John; a brother, Paul Stanley and wife Linda of East Fairfield; a sister, Laurel Stanley of Danville; a sister-in-law, Susan Stanley of Franklin; a brother-in-law, Norman Larose and wife Anne-Marie of Jericho; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents and her brother Earl died earlier.

In accordance with Winnie’s wishes, there will be no visiting hours or funeral. Burial will be private.
