“Morrisville Mosaics - A Community Project” and “Undercover: Figurative Work by Open Studio Figure Drawing” will be exhibited through Wednesday, Sept. 25, at River Arts Center, 74 Pleasant St., Morrisville.

The gallery is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. An artist talk and reception will be held on Thursday, Aug. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m., with refreshments and a cash bar.

River Arts began two creative community-oriented projects during the spring of 2018 — “Morrisville — Favorite Places,” and an interpretation of the photographic work exhibited at River Arts in the fall of 2018.

For the second phase of the project, six of the photographs were selected, digitally divided into sections and distributed to over 60 Vermont artists, who interpreted their panels through a diverse range of mediums, including painting, collage, alcohol ink, 3D mixed-media, textiles, and glass mosaic.

The final compositions illustrate the importance of individual contributions to a larger purpose. Ultimately these artistic expressions form a tapestry of human experiences. “Morrisville Mosaics” celebrates how individuals, working together, contribute to a more vibrant community.
