Lawrence Earle presents “The Character Batiste” on Wednesday, April 3, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Lamoille County Civic Center, 24 Main St., Morrisville, next to Cumberland Farms.

Earle will remain in character throughout his storytelling and poetry reading, which feature the adventures of his fictitious character, Batiste, who he based on his own family, neighbors and friends living in Lamoille County “back in the day.”

Earle is a musician, poet and raconteur who spent his youth on a farm in Eden. Since learning to read at age 3, he has enjoyed the literary arts and performing before audiences. His poetry has been published in local literary newspapers and in 2010 he published a collection of his favorite verse called “Ravings of a Redneck — Near the Kingdom’s Edge.” Now, as an older Vermonter, he is working on placing his writings in electronic format.

This event is free and all are welcome. Information: Maxine Adams, 730-7485.
