It’s official; summer break is over and kids across Lamoille County are headed back to school next week. Here’s a look at when the first day back is at schools in the area, and what time things get rolling each day.

The first day back at Morristown Elementary School and Peoples Academy Middle Level is Monday, Aug. 26. At Peoples Academy High School only freshmen and upperclassmen who are new to the school go back on Monday; everyone else’s first day is Tuesday, Aug. 27.

School starts at 7:55 a.m. at the middle and high school and at 8 a.m. at the elementary school.

One change to the busing route that parents in Morrisville village should be aware of is that some of the extra, courtesy bus stops have been eliminated. Lamoille South Superintendent Tracy Wrend said that courtesy stops on Congress Street and at the intersection of Elmore Street and Fairwood Parkway have been eliminated.

The first day back at the Elmore School is Monday, Aug. 26; school starts at 8 a.m.

Monday, Aug. 26 is the first day back in school for all Stowe students. Start times at all three Stowe schools remains the same; the middle and high school day beings at 8 a.m. and the elementary school day starts at 8:10.

The school day does run a bit longer in Stowe this year though, with an extra eight minutes tacked on to the end.

Stowe Middle and High school students will now get out at 2:43 p.m. while elementary students will get out at 2:53 p.m.
