The Wolcott Select Board will hold an informational meeting on Wednesday, July 10 about the possibility of creating a town administrator position. The meeting will be held at the Wolcott Town Offices on School Street beginning at 6 p.m.

At the meeting Wolcott voters and residents can learn more about why the select board feels creating the town administrator position is a priority, what an administrator will do, and how the position will be funded for the current fiscal year that began on July 1, 2019.

The board is currently planning to hold a special town meeting sometime in mid-August to ask voters to approve using roughly $20,000 in the current budget to help fund the position; voters had previously approved earmarking that money for a capital reserve fund. The remainder of the salary and benefits needed to fund the town administrator position will likely come from surplus money not used in the 2018-2019 budget, which wrapped up June 30.
