Police have charged a Hardwick woman with burning down a storage shed in Morristown on Sept. 24.
Shayanne Poleio, 28, was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 1, by officers from the Vermont State Police and Morristown Police Department on a charge of fourth-degree arson.
The fire destroyed a storage shed at a residence at 2017 Cote Hill Road, owned by Poleio’s family members.
When firefighters from the Morristown Fire Department arrived at 9 that morning, they found the 8-by-8-foot shed engulfed in flames. Everything inside it was destroyed. Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading farther.
The blaze was quickly ruled arson, sparking the police investigation. As part of the investigation, police circulated photos of a red sedan arriving and leaving the property just before the fire began.
Poleio was released after she was booked; she’s due in Lamoille Superior Court Nov. 13.
