An Eden man was held without bail in Chittenden County after police caught up with him.

Shawn Miller, 22, has been accused in a pair of domestic assaults in late April and early May.

Miller is charged with first-degree aggravated domestic assault with a weapon, misdemeanor domestic assault and criminal threatening in an incident May 12 in which he allegedly beat up a woman and chased her around the house with a loaded .308 hunting rifle.

In a separate incident April 26, Miller was charged with first-degree aggravated domestic assault and interfering with access to emergency services. Police allege he tried to strangle the same woman while parked outside the Eden General Store.

Police issued a be-on-the-lookout notice for Miller following the May 12 incident, and Lamoille County State’s Attorney Todd Shove said he was arrested and arraigned in Chittenden County.

The judge there ordered Miller held without bail, and the case will be heard in Lamoille County Superior Court.
