All-Star games player

Abi Cote, who played for the Lamoille Union softball team, played in the North-South Senior All-Star Games.

Abi Cote, a recent Lamoille Union High School graduate and a former Lancers softball player, represented her school at the annual North-South Senior All-Star games on Friday and Saturday, June 28-29, at Castleton University.

Cote played in both games of the doubleheader on Friday night, going 1-for-3 with a single while playing left field. Cote’s North team won both games Friday, 11-1 and 6-2, then made it a clean sweep with an 8-4 win on Saturday.

“I am so proud of Abi,” Lamoille coach Carolyn Stames said. She said Cote is the first Lancer since 2010 to play in the North-South game, a showcase of the best graduating talent in Vermont softball.

Cote will attend St. Michael’s College this fall and plans to try out for the women’s softball team.
