The crowded race for the top spots in the upcoming playoff tournament stayed murky after another week of play in the Hardwick men’s softball league.

The top team in the league, the Wolfpack, stayed atop the standings with a 21-7 win over Local Electric. The Outlaws beat Buffalo Mountain Powersports, 4-2, to move ahead of that team in the standings while the Snakes beat the Rebels 10-8 and the Country Boys beat the Luddites 10-5 to keep pace.

The Knights had a bye.

In games played the week before, on July 16, the Outlaws posted a pair of lopsided wins, 16-2 and 15-0, over the Rebels, who’d lost just once before that.

In other games, the Snakes beat the Knights 16-3, the Country Boys beat Local Electric 10-3 and Buffalo Mountain Powersports beat the Luddites 24-4.

The Wolfpack had a bye.

Games are played every Tuesday on fields in Garfield, Wolcott, Greensboro and East Hardwick. The playoff tournament is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 7 in Garfield.

Here’s a look at the standings after 12 weeks of play.
