Marilyn J. Magoon, 74, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at The Manor in Morrisville.
She was born in Morrisville Dec. 28, 1943, daughter of Harry and Sylvia Shedd Billings, and was a 1961 graduate of Peoples Academy.
Her husband, David Magoon, died in 1999.
Marilyn was a member of the local congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 50 years. She worked as a cook at Copley Hospital for a number of years and had also been employed as a homemaker for Lamoille Home Health.
She enjoyed writing poetry and spending time with her friends. She also played the drums and enjoyed dancing.
Survivors include her children, Andrea Mayo of Morrisville and Lynwood Magoon of Farmville, N.C.; a sister, Betty Ainsworth of Websterville; and a brother, Harold Symonds of Jewett City, Conn.
In addition to her parents and husband, a brother, Howard Symonds, died earlier.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, at 1 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Morrisville. Burial will be at a later date in Center Cemetery in Hyde Park.
