The Greater Stowe Interfaith Coalition invites everyone to support human rights at a Lights for Liberty protest on Friday, July 12, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Jewish Community of Greater Stowe, 1189 Cape Cod Road, Stowe.

People are encouraged to bring signs. Speakers will include local clergy, elected officials and community leaders.

Lights for Liberty will bring thousands of people to locations worldwide to protest the inhumane conditions faced by refugees in detention centers.

Rabbi David Fainsilber of the Jewish Community of Greater Stowe said, “It is important to speak up in defense of fundamental human rights. We welcome everyone –– secular and religious –– to join us in asserting the importance of treating all human beings with respect and dignity.”
