This weekend we celebrate 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Our pastor, the Rev. Jon Schnobrich or the Rev. Joseph Ikegbunam, parochial vicar, will celebrate the vigil Mass on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Sunday Masses will be at 8 and 10:30 a.m.

Fr. Joseph often begins Adoration at 7:30 before weekday Mass. See the schedule for the weekday Masses in the Sunday bulletin, at the back of the church, or online at

Fr. Jon will be forming Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults classes in September. Contact him at 253-7536.

Sunday’s gospel, Luke 15:1, begins with the account of Jesus hanging with people “righteous” folks avoided — tax collectors and even sinners (like us, maybe). The scene sets the opportunity for Jesus to teach the parable of the lost sheep. The lost are always welcome to celebrate Mass and pray with us.

Our diocese has an online high school curriculum, St. Therese Digital Academy, The academy’s rigorous program works with parents in their role as the primary educators of their children. Courses are available for full and part-time students.

University of Notre Dame is “on the road” for an info night at Rice Memorial High School in South Burlington on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 6:30 p.m. The ND staff will discuss academic, community and spiritual life at the school; and the admissions and financial aid process.
