Home owners looking to rent out their properties — or portions thereof —can get their questions answered at a panel discussion and networking event this Thursday.
The event is Sept. 19 at Stowe Bowl on Mountain Road from 5 to 7 p.m. and co-sponsored by Stock the House, a luxury concierge service in Stowe. The event is free.
The event was inspired by a short-term rental summit held in Brattleboro in May, which was attended by 300 to 400 in- and out-of-state homeowners and managers.
At Thursday’s event a panel comprised of short-term rental specialists will share pertinent information related to the rental market, followed by a Q&A.
Among the local faces on the panel are:
• Tom Jackman, Stowe’s director of planning, who will give an update on current regulations for such rentals in Stowe, talk about the relationship between the town and homeowners and provide other information.
• Sibylle Kim, a long-time rental homeowner and Airbnb “Super Host” from Waterbury will offer takeaways from the Brattleboro summit, point out what resources are available for short-term rental homeowners, and provide tips on keeping your home safe and your neighbors happy.
• Carrie Simmons, the new executive director of the Stowe Area Association, will give an introduction to the association and explain how it supports Stowe and the surrounding area and will outline the association’s objectives around supporting homeowners and managers.

Organizers will have non-alcoholic beverages and snack food on hand, and there will be a cash bar.
