The Vermont Procurement Technical Assistance Center, in collaboration with the Lamoille Economic Development Corp. and the Vermont Small Business Development Center, invites businesses to a free workshop on “Selling to the Government 101” on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 9 to 11 a.m. at the Green Mountain Technology and Career Center in Hyde Park.

Businesses will learn the basics of competing for contracts with state, local, or federal government, as well as socioeconomic small-business programs that may be advantageous. The event includes 30 minutes of networking time.

“Government contracting can be challenging. This class provides businesses with information to navigate through the challenges and the tools and resources available to be successful,” said Joanne Spaulding, director of the Vermont Procurement Technical Assistance Center, which seeks to increase the percentage of federal contracts awarded to Vermont businesses, with emphasis on contracts awarded to small businesses.
