Get set for three weeks of night work on building new sidewalks and burying utility lines beneath them in Stowe village.

Beginning Sunday, Sept. 8, work between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. will start again and will continue for three weeks, Sunday nights to Friday mornings, on South Main Street and Mountain Road.

Each road will be closed where work is taking place — about a week on South Main Street, starting this Sunday, then two weeks on Mountain Road.

A detour route along Moscow Road, Barrows Road, Luce Hill Road and Mountain Road will be set up during the South Main Street work Sept. 8-12. Local traffic will still be allowed up to the actual construction zone, and businesses will remain open.

On Tuesday, Sept. 10, installation of new curbs will begin near the Main Street intersections with School Street and Mountain Road, on Mountain Road from Main Street up to the bridge, and on the east side of Maple Street.

Detours will be set up during that work.

In daytime work, paving on Maple and School streets should be completed this Friday, and work has begun to prepare Sunset Street and Parsonage Park for new curbing, sidewalks and electrical work.

New streetlights for Main Street are due to arrive this week, and workers should begin installing them soon.
