Marty Lacasse announced last week that she will retire next June as Stowe Elementary School principal.
Lacasse taught music at Stowe Elementary School for 16 years, and took over as principal in 2016, when longtime leader Richard Smiles retired.
Dan Morrison, principal of Stowe Middle School, has already begun meeting with parents and teachers to discuss what qualities Lacasse’s replacement should possess.
The job has already been posted on SchoolSpring. Lacasse’s current rate of pay is $95,093 per year, according to school superintendent Tracy Wrend.
“We are hoping for a next principal who will sustain and grow the quality education program that already exists at Stowe Elementary School,” Wrend said.
Wrend praised Lacasse for her commitment to cultivating a welcoming, warm and learning-focused atmosphere at Stowe Elementary, and for her prior work as music teacher.
