Heavy traffic is expected on Friday, July 12, in the early afternoon and evening, mostly between 3 and 7 p.m., on Route 100 between Waterbury and Stowe, especially at the I-89 Exit 10 ramps.

The Bitter Lacrosse Tournament will take place over the weekends of July 12-14 and July 19-21 in Stowe.

In Waterbury, Stowe Street and Bidwell Lane will be closed for the Waterbury Arts Fest July 12 and 13.

Town officials from Waterbury and Stowe are collaborating with event organizers to put traffic controls in place.

Drivers should anticipate more traffic than normal; delays are likely. So, plan ahead and allow extra time to reach your destination.

Crews are continuing to pave Route 100, starting in Waterbury and heading north during nighttime hours, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Guardrail installation was anticipated to be completed midweek. By press time, paving had reached the intersection of Guild Hill Road in Waterbury Center.

Time permitting, crews will begin to improve drainage along Route 100 throughout the project area, 7 p.m. to 7 p.m.
