Police are investigating the apparent theft of a state-owned guardrail in Jericho.

On Feb. 1, state police responded to 295 Route 15, just east of the intersection with Browns Trace Road, and learned someone had dismantled a guardrail and apparently replaced it with concrete jersey barriers.

The guardrail was installed in the summer of 2018 as part of a highway project that widened the road and installed a traffic light.

Anyone with information is asked to call the State Police Williston Barracks at 878-7111.
