A Stowe man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Route 100 near the Stowe-Morristown town line Saturday morning.

According to Stowe Police Department, Brian Murphy, 34, was driving north on Route 100 when he crashed into a telephone pole shortly after 8:30 a.m. on June 22.

Police say the crash occurred on Route 100, just north of Tinker Lane. Police say the preliminary investigation showed the vehicle went off the right side of the road, striking a telephone pole and a tree.

Murphy was the only person in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the roads were dry and the weather was clear at the time of the crash. Stowe EMS and the Stowe Fire Department also responded. The incident is currently under investigation.
