To the Editor:

Wow, the new, wider shoulders on Mountain Road are great! I was using my bike as part of physical therapy to rehab after a recent knee surgery when I discovered the huge shoulders that are part of our repaved Route 108. Now I’ve parked my SUV and am taking my bike to run errands along that route because it’s the nicest road in town.

I don’t even feel bad going slower than I’d like because the cars still seem to have plenty of room to pass me.

This morning I slung my yoga bag over my shoulder and pedaled to the Yoga Barn for class. I never would have felt safe doing that on Mountain Road prior to the repaving and relining. I thought it would be smoother to drive the new road, but I’m driving less and pedaling more.

Kudos to Heidi Scheuermann, who made the project happen. I’m smiling and my knee rehabilitation is so much more enjoyable!
