The Lamoille County 11-12 baseball team is off to a great start in the Little League All-Star Tournament.

The first game was a 9-3 win against Missisquoi.

The second game was against St. Albans, after press time, and game three is June 29 against Browns River. All games in this round are held at Jericho Elementary School.

Players: Archie Thompson, Brandon Allen, Brendon Moodie, Camden Strong, Carter MacDonald, Daniel Mlcuch, Gavin Lund, Harrison Frazee, Jackson Hoag, Matthew Brosseau, Quinn Kalp, Sage Rowland and Seamus Burgess. Coaches are Sandy Thompson, Peter Burgess and Craig Gants.

Last year the Lamoille County 9-11 team won the District 3 championship in St. Albans, which brought Lamoille County out of a long hiatus in this age bracket.

Said parent Vickie Strong, “Some great baseball is being played. These boys are working super hard and I can't wait to see what happens next.”

In addition, Lamoille County will host the District and State Championships for the 9-11 age group of All-Stars for Vermont. The championship tournaments will all happen at the Stowe Recreation ballfields. The district tournament started Wednesday and runs until July 7, with seven teams coming to Stowe for the double-elimination tournament.

The State Tournament runs July 13-14 and July 20-21-22.

Also, Lamoille County has an age 8-10 All-Star team that is currently competing in its own tournament in St. Albans.
