The Stowe Mites took the ice by storm on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Leddy Park in Burlington. There was no shortage of offensive firepower as they squared off against the Burlington Panthers.
For Team 1, the scoring came in bunches. Ryan Hughes netted eight goals, three of them on breakaways. Daniel Donza ripped pucks top-shelf throughout the contest and also ended the morning with eight goals. Stewart Lemnah was outstanding around the net, putting in five goals. Spencer Hughes locked down the defensive end of the rink and also chipped in a goal. Braxton Orr and Reilly Lewton each had a goal and both did a fantastic job passing the puck across the ice. Jack Boes was a brick wall in net, holding Burlington scoreless for two periods of play.
Team 2 was dominant as well. Owen Ruane was incredible in goal, making multiple acrobatic saves and poke checks. He had 25 saves throughout the contest. Tristan Gagne scored two goals in his first shift and ended the morning with four goals and an assist. Vincent Romano scored three goals and did an outstanding job passing the puck. Jody Semler scored two goals and was effective at digging pucks out of the corners. Curtis Donza had a beautiful top-shelf goal in the second period of play. Madison Shaw and Dean Roy played excellent offensive and defensive hockey and helped generate multiple scoring opportunities for their line.
The Stowe Mites return to action next week when they square off against Lyndon on Nov. 11 at 9:45 a.m.
