“Our manicured grounds offer a myriad of spaces for every kind of celebration,” said Kim Donahue, owner of the Round Barn Farm in Waitsfield. “Think sun-dappled lawns, shady willow groves, gracious pondside spaces, a cool oasis tucked next to our ice-house, and meadows with sweeping vistas of mountains and pastures. And don’t forget the cows!”
Set on 240 acres in the Mad River Valley, the Round Barn Farm offers the bucolic setting many couples envision for their Vermont wedding, with a historic bonus: the inn features one of the only remaining round barns in the state.
As a wedding venue, the Round Barn is not only a unique attraction, it’s incredibly functional. The structure offers two separate settings, so your entire celebration can take place under one roof without the need for a separate tent. (Of course, a tent on the lawn is always an option for couples who prefer an outdoor affair.)
The ceremony often takes place in the Milking Parlor, with its soaring ceilings and views to the Hayloft, which offers space to comfortably seat 200 guests for dinner, with a dance floor and space for a band.
Round Barn’s in-house culinary team takes care of the food and beverages, but couples are free to choose outside vendors for other services. An on-site coordinator works with the couple through all stages of the planning process, from menus and décor to transportation coordination.
“While we diligently drill down to the fine details in the planning process, the reward is that on the day of their celebration, we’ll have a well-defined plan so that the couple can concentrate solely on celebrating their milestone day!” Donahue said.
The inn offers 12 guest rooms, and a wide range of lodging options is available within a 10-mile radius. The nearby villages of Waitsfield and Warren, plus Sugarbush Resort, offer numerous possibilities for your wedding-weekend activities.
