Today is Halloween, but local children started trick-or-treating early last weekend at The Manor in Morrisville, to the delight of residents there.

Halloween fun as the Stowe Arena/Stowe Parks and Recreation celebrated by having a costume party on the ice with music, snacks, face painting and more.

On Saturday, Oct. 19, at 10:30 a.m., the Waterbury Public Library, 28 N. Main St., will host Drag Queen Story Hour — DQSH — featuring Vermont-based drag queens Emoji Nightmare and Nikki Champagne, two of Vermont's favorite drag queens.

Pumpkin chuckers launched far and wide at this year’s Vermont Pumpkin Chuckin’ Festival, which took place Sunday, Sept. 29, at the Stoweflake Resort. The event raised money for the Clarina Howard Nichols Center, which helps victims of domestic and sexual violence and their children.

Dog Mountain hosts its annual Fall Dog Party Saturday, Oct. 5 from noon to 4 p.m. at 143 Parks Road in St. Johnsbury. Bring your four-legged friends to romp freely in the leaves, swim and play with other dogs around the 150-acre property and visit the Dog Chapel and Stephen Huneck Gallery. H…
