While trick-or-treat is reserved for Oct. 31, it really caps off more than a week of Halloween holiday happenings, when an easy way to spice up a gathering is simply add “haunted” to the name.

Haunted houses, haunted corn mazes, haunted parades, haunted train rides — there’s plenty of things to do in the area to scare you. There’s also a bounty of food-related things, whether it involves eating the item — or turning it into a gap-toothed jack-o’-lantern.
