Green Mountain Sailing Regatta

Stowe Yacht Club hosts the Green Mountain Sailing Regatta Thursday and Friday, June 6-7, and the EC-12 races on Saturday and Sunday, June 8-9. The J-Boat Region One Championships, on Thursday and Friday, feature the largest of the radio-controlled boats, scale models of early Americas Cup racers. On Saturday and Sunday EC-12 races will be held. Skippers come from the Stowe Yacht Club and all over New England, Nova Scotia and Chicago. Races take about 15-30 minutes depending on the wind as the boats have no motors and are controlled by radio from the shore. All races are run under the same international rules used in big-boat racing. On the pond behind the Commodores Inn, Route 100, in Stowe’s Lower Village, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., all four days.
