Why those trails?

I love the variety of the AC loop. I tend to ride up Hardy’s and down Kimmers. Kimmers was the first trail I was involved in building and I still look at every guide stone and remember digging them out of the ground and placing them two or three times before they met (trail builder) Hardy Avery’s approval. It’s also a really unique forest zone that I never get tired of looking at.

What do you see and feel as you’re on that ride?

Same thing I felt when I rode my bike as a little kid setting up ramps and jumping trash cans. And a sense of gratitude that I can ride it whenever I want.

What would you tell other riders about why those trails are special?

“Let’s take a ride and I’ll show you.”

In talking with other riders, where do you tell them they can get the most from their sport:

  • Novices: Trapps
  • Intermediates: Cady Hill, It’s a great place to grow and improve as a rider.
  • Advanced: Anywhere with riders who are better then you.

Why do you love mountain biking?

The thrill, camaraderie, and sense of community.

Anything else you’d like to say:

Get involved! Go on a group ride, volunteer at an event and do trail work It’s an amazing community and you’ll be happy you did.
