Helen Day Art Center in Stowe invites artists to submit proposals for “Exposed,” the 28th annual outdoor sculpture exhibition from Saturday, July 20, to Saturday, Oct. 19. This year’s theme is “Text and Symbols.” The submission deadline is Friday, March 15.

The juror will be Lucas Cowan, public art curator at the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy in Boston since 2014. He is a founding member of the Advisory Council for Cold Hollow Sculpture Park in Vermont. Cowan holds degrees from the Maryland Institute College of Art and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He previously directed the Public Art Program for the Maryland State Arts Council and was Senior Curator of Exhibits for Millennium Park and the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture.

A $1,000 stipend will be offered to each artist to help offset transportation costs. Sculptures will be installed on the Helen Day Art Center property and on Main Street in Stowe. HDAC will produce a full color catalog and professional photography of all the sculpture for inclusion in the catalog once the work is installed.
