“Origin,” Narayan Plasha, mixed media on Masonite, 35”x48,” 2003.

Whether the vision is a perfectly realized Chioggia beet, as beautiful as it is delicious, or strengthening the roots of our democracy, it all takes hard work, dedication and lots of patience. “It takes strong roots to achieve a vision.” That’s the theme of “ROOTS,” at the Miller’s Thumb Gallery, 14 Breezy Ave., Greensboro, through September 16. An opening reception will be held Thursday, Aug. 1 from 6-8 p.m., with local, organic hors d’oeuvres and exhibiting artists in attendance. For information, call (802) 533-2045 or millersthumbgallery.com.
