Infrared photography

An artists reception for “The Vermont We Cannot See,” a group exhibition of infrared photography, will be held Friday, Aug. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Axel’s Gallery on Stowe Street in Waterbury. Photographers Lisa Dimondstein, Julie Parker and Sandra Shenk will show selected infrared photos, created by removing the camera filter that blocks infrared light from the sensor and then installing a filter to block the visible light so the camera “sees” what is just beyond our perception. The exhibit runs through Sept. 14.
