North Country Cakes: Doughnuts

An array of doughnuts laid out behind the display case at North Country Cakes in Morrisville changes every day.

A new bakery opened in Morrisville village last week, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

North Country Cakes, located at 73 Lower Main St., offers an array of daily-different delicacies created by pastry chef Nicole Maddox, who had been churning out doughnuts and beignets, macarons and scones — and bigger special orders like wedding cakes — out of her home kitchen, just down the street from North Country Cakes.

The new shop is located in the former home of Thompson’s Flour Shop, which moved across the street to bigger digs last year.

North Country Cakes is open Wednesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. More information: northcountrycakes.com.
