Black Violin performs at NVU-Johnson’s Dibden Center for the Arts on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. Classically trained string duo Kevin Sylvester (Kev Marcus) on violin and Wilner Baptiste (Wil B.) on viola perform with a hip-hop treatment of classical sensibilities, reinvigorating string arrangement with driving rhythm and infectious beats. The duo has collaborated with Alicia Keys, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco and Aerosmith, and played at President Obama’s Kids Inaugural Concert. The show kicks off a partnership with Kingdom County Productions/KCP Presents and St. Johnsbury’s Catamount Arts, with four shows at Dibden and 10 shows in St. Johnsbury and Lyndonville. Tickets are $28.50 to $48.50, and include a digital download of Black Violin’s forthcoming album: 748-2600 or catamountarts.org. More info: kcppresents.org.
