The Morrisville Military Band and the Waterbury Community Band will meet in the middle — in Stowe — for a free Stowe Performing Arts Gazebo Concert on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 6 p.m.
Conductors of each band taking a turn on the podium, leading the combined bands through a repertoire that includes Broadway show tunes, marches, popular and patriotic music. The program ends with the playing of the National Anthem, with blaring car horns and cheers.
Lawn chairs, blankets and picnics are welcome for this hour-long concert.
The concert will be on the lawn of the Helen Day Memorial Library and Art Center at 90 Pond St.
If it rains, the concert will be moved to nearby Stowe Community Church at 137 Main St. (No picnics inside, please.)
The Gazebo Concerts are presented with support from the Friends of Stowe Free Library, the Town of Stowe, and media sponsors Radio Vermont Group and the Stowe Reporter.
